Aurbey is an amazing floral designer. I am so captivated by all the images she shares on her blog.
Look at her beautiful bedroom. She uses her background in Interior Design to create her amazing floral arrangements.
I am sometimes at a loss on incorporating flowers into my home so I asked her to give some advice on flowers and what she does to make them look so amazing. Here is what she said:
For me, flowers are like endorphins. I see them or smell them and I’m instantly happier. Whether its a few posies from the garden placed in a jar on a my nightstand or an elegant arrangement on my dining room table, it brings a smile to my face every time.
Fresh flowers are much more therapeutic than fake ones, so buy yourself a $12 therapy session next time you’re at the grocery store.
Flowers have the ability to bring a soft, femininity to a room that no other design element can.
I like to have an arrangement of fresh flowers in EVERY room. Yes, EVERY room. They lend a lease on life wherever you put them. A simple camellia bloom dropped in a dish of floating water will even do.
I reserve my favorite flower for my bedroom. White tulips please!
I believe a beautiful arrangement can stand alone as a work of art and bring conversation to a room.
Flowers are often used to celebrate milestones or special occasions in our lives, but why not make every day special with a cut bouquet of flowers!
Bulb flowers are especially beautiful in the home. Right now tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths are readily available and easy to arrange.
Ranunculus are at the peak of their season! Their tissue like petals come in a variety of colors and brighten up any room.
For a more modern arrangement, try using only one flower variety or one color. Its all about clean lines.
For a more whimsical arrangement, try using a variety of flower sizes, textures, and colors.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match colors. Purple and yellow, orange and green, pink and purple. It will add depth and dimension to your arrangement. Add white to any arrangement to brighten it up!
Use an unexpected container like a favorite mug, teapot, or vintage jar. Add a pretty ribbon or some raffia to dress it up a little.
Thanks Aubrey for your great advice and to see more of her amazing floral arrangements check out her blog!

beautiful flowers, and a great post! i have actually been thinking about taking a floral design class–this was the push i needed! 🙂
I know Aubrey, and her personality matches her beautiful, fun and sweet arrangements!
I love Aubrey's notion that fresh flowers are a therapy session. I buy myself two different $4 bunches of flowers every other week and mix them with other things I find around the house or in my yard. Lemons, limes and hosta leaves from my yard are a few of my favorite additions.
I don't think I've ever seen succulents used in arrangements, and I love the idea of adding that texture to the mix. All of these were beautiful, but that bridal bouquet made me gasp! Thanks for sharing…
