I’ve been working with the greatest client who decided to spruce up her living room and eating area. She had some cream colored cushions on her dinging room chairs that had definitely seen better days. They were covered in stains. I knew that if we were going to recover them we had to do it in outdoor fabric. So I had my seamstress Erin sew up these amazing cushion covers in Calico Corners outdoor Soho Fabric.
Anything that you spill on outdoor fabric will literally bead up and fall off. Nothing is going to be soaking into these bad boys. I would totally recommend the use of outdoor fabric especially if you have young kids. It’s a lifesaver.
I recently recovered my kitchen chairs in outdoor fabric. I have four sloppy kids and it's been working great. It was between outdoor and oilcloth but I though we'd stick to the oilcloth in summer.
what a great idea!! As always!!
I just found this fabric in a "Pool" color last Friday at Hancock Fabrics (50% OFF). I have 4 kids (ages 3-11) so this will be perfect! I'm painting 2 chairs red and putting that fabric on the seats. I'm so excited to see the final product.
What a great idea! I need to recover my existing breakfast room chairs, so, thanks.
does it work for muddy paw prints?!!
I have expensive heavy linen slipcovers on my dining chairs…washable but they aren't really holding up to all those stains. You are brillant.

I know this is an older post, but I'm a new follower and I just came across it. I used outdoor fabric to make a crib bumper for my nursery. Let's face it, it's only in the crib for a few months and it was easy to spot clean if needed. I even threw it in the washer a few times. So far, it's survived three kiddos and I plan on using it at least once more. I LOVE outdoor fabric! Have you ever used an outdoor rug in a bathroom? I was thinking of trying that in my master bath???????
