My husband and I had a wonderful time in Virginia last weekend visiting Marissa and her husband Todd.
We spent the first day at Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson.
We also visited the Darden campus at the University of Virginia where Marissa’s husband is going to school.
One of the best parts of Virginia are the trees! We went on a hike in Shenandoah. It was beautiful.
I had an amazing time. Marissa and I had so much fun talking about design and the ups and downs of running our own businesses.
Make sure you check out her blog here. She is hosting an e-design giveaway for her services.
Thank you kindly for leaving out the sweaty hiking pictures. I'm so glad you guys came to visit!
I'm glad you had a good time. I was born and bred there, and went to UVA, so it is a special place to me. I loved seeing the blue ridge mountains in your shots!
Love it! I was in Virginia in July for work and we hiked up to Humpback Gap and it was gorgeous.
What a beautiful place!! Love your pictures and that very cute multicolored blouse you have on!!!
We just went to the Shenandoah National Park for the first time in a really long time back in July and it was AMAZING. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing east coast national park to visit!
Great pictures! So it's more than a little pathetic that Monticello is only a couple hours away yet we've never been there. I've been begging the hubs to take me… it looks beautiful!
I'm from (treeless) western Kansas and definitely agree with you that the trees are one of VA's best features. Especially during the next couple months!
I am obsessed with Monticello and UVA…if I could go to college again, I would apply to UVA!
What a fun vacation! I love that you wore your Utah State Shirt!!!
So glad you had a fun time in VA 🙂 My husband and I live in Lynchburg about 40 minutes from Monticello. We are not originally from VA so it's been fun exploring the history and cute towns like Charlottesville. Thanks for sharing!
