This summer Daybreak had the opportunity to help the Gomez family build a house. The whole thing took place down the street from my house. It was so fun to watch.
Jonah Gomez is a seven-year-old boy who is full of life despite the fact that he needs a bone marrow transplant due to rare blood disorders that have required him to have open heart surgery and receive special medical care. So far there has been no bone marrow match for Jonah. He faces a tougher challenge than most because he’s from Latin descent and statistically fewer minorities join the bone marrow registry.
If you can help go here.
Stay tuned this Sunday night on ABC to see how the house turned out. It’s going to be amazing.
Praying they find a match for him! Will tune in to watch the show.
Wow so touching my aunty who's Native American has been on the bone marrow list for over two years and finally, Thank God, received a call last week that she has a match! So there is hope! http://thesleefamily.blogspot.com/
Kirsten it is so heartwarming to see a family like this get help. I pray Jonah gets a donor match soon!

What a cutie Jonah is and such a touching story. I will be watching tomorrow evening. My husband is on the national registry to be a bone marrow donor. I will keep Jonah and his family in my prayers and hope that he finds a match.
How exciting to see this all unfold! And my prayers go out to that sweet little boy xo
Very cool! I love Daybreak – such a unique and pretty neighborhood! Must have been fun watching. Praying it works out for that little boy.
oh man, praying for him!
That is awesome, I hope a match is found for Jonah I too am of a racial descent that is difficult to match due to low donor numbers, I fortunately do not need a stem cell transplant (fingers crossed. What a difference it will make to this family to have a wonderful home to enjoy life in! Kia Kaha Jonah!
my prayers for the little boy and wishing him a speedy recovery…he looks so cheerful :)..God Bless him
So glad you mentioned this. I love watching this show and it has been a while since I have. Not only do I love the home but I've looked into donating umbilical cord blood and there is a location near me that can facilitate that.
Thank you!
Such a touching story! It was fun to watch it yesterday. I also discovered that Jonah's pediatrician is my children's pediatrician as well. He's in good hands. Many prayers going out to him and his family!
Well…that cute little face just sent me right on over to register! He's precious…Hope he finds a match…Lord willing…I'm a match and we could call it done! 🙂
