When I first went out to visit Candace her room wasn’t half bad. Here is what it looked like.
She had these beautiful ikat slipper chairs. Her sofa was nice with beautiful nailhead trim and she already had a fun rug. But she wanted to liven the place up!!
The living room also opened up to this empty space.
It was a big empty space. So she need major space planning help.
Here is the after!
The first thing we did was paint the walls. This helped the sofa stand out and eliminated all the beige blah that was going on before. And then we needed window treatments!
We used Wilmington in Multi. Erin made the draperies and I have to say they are so beautiful in the room. My client also found a giant wall clock for above the sofa.
The blue chevron pillow was made by Erin. The red pillow is from West Elm.
The coffee table is from Crate and Barrel and the rug is from Williams Sonoma Home. It was a killer deal.
The t.v. wall needed something fun so we did a very subtle tone-on-tone wallpaper from Walls. It even has a little shimmer to it which makes it really cool. The amazing lamp is from Robert Abbey. It is large and in charge!
Now for that pesky area adjacent to the Living Room. We went through a few different ideas for this space but we finally decided on two chairs and a couple of ottomans.
Candace found these chairs on KSL and totally reupholstered them herself.
Candace was a dream client to work with and I’m so glad we were able to create a living area that she loves!
And as always thanks to Jessica Kettle for taking these beautiful pictures!
this turned out gorgeous! can you tell me where her ikat chairs are from? thanks!
Gorgeous! Love it all!

I was almost dreading this post {but more excited} after your sneak peek because I am using wilmington multi in my first real client project that wraps in a few weeks. But I love seeing your take on it and am so glad there are so many differences. We actually had that rc willey couch but ended up taking it back, funny. It's really lovely and I really like how you styled the odd area. Great job again. You always inspire me with your designs and color choices!
love it lady! great job!!
That is AMAZING!! Love it!
LOVE it!
Is the table really from west elm? it looks like the clairemont from crate & barrel that I have had my eye on but this one could be less expensive.
It's beautiful Kirsten! I love love love the draperies – between the draperies and the wall color – this room has come to life. Great work!
So gorgeous!!! What a great space! I would never think to mix all those patterns! I need to be more adventurous! Thanks for sharing! It looks amazing! xoxo
Wow! You did such a great job on your client's room. I bet she loves it! I like that you used shimmery fabrics and surfaces throughout the room. It's a nice touch.
Kristen, this is beautiful! Is there a website where I can order that wallpaper? I've been looking for something just like that for a while, but haven't found "the right one" until just now. 🙂 Thanks!
allyson: You can contact Walls in Salt Lake about the wallpaper. That's where we got it from.
Sorry yes! The coffee table is from Crate and Barrel. My mistake!
The blue lamps were found locally.
The red rug is from Williams Sonoma Home
Amazing!!
Thanks Kirsten! It's really fun to see the final pictures and to look back on the before pictures. You are so fantastic to work with!
The Ikat chairs are from CSN Stores.
Yet another oh my wow comment here! I absolutely love this space! So lovely.
Beautiful, Kirsten! I love the styling on the shelves, the rugs, the gallery wall, everything!
Kirsten, as usual beautiful job. You have such a talent adding color and brightness to a room. Everything is perfection!
Wow!! This space looks great Kirsten! You did an amazing job. Your mix of pattern is awesome. Love everything!
I love how much color you packed into this space. Its gorgeous!
Woah, what a transformation! I love all the color you brought it- I dont even notice the brown sofa or the brown carpet- I just see all that bright beautiful color!!
you are so good at what you do!
This room is A-mazing!! Love it all!
Beautiful job Kirsten!! You are so talented and have an amazing touch.
As always, beautiful, fresh and colorful! Your client must really be loving spending time here now.
This is beautiful! What kind of paper do you use to wrap the books on the shelves! I love that little touch but I don't know where to get started to look.
Thank you!
Laura
Do you know where your client got that wall clock? Love it!
You did such a beautiful job. I love the color choices, everything looks so fresh!
It looks awesome! I especially love the fabrics, you really have a talent for mixing patterns. I also love her wrapped books, really pretty.
Looks great. Love the paint color. I would really, really, really love to see a new mantel. I think that would make a huge difference.
Wow I love this room! I'm surprised the walls don't make it feel cold… but wow do they breathe new life into that couch! Love those curtains too, they look like mine!
I think you did a great job. I'm a travel-over from Pinterest this evening. I don't see the blue paint color listed and I'm having trouble picking one for my living room. Are you willing to share your paint color/brand with me?
I LOVE this living room transformation!! I am drawn to the accent of the red carpet and pillow. Great look!
I'm obsessing over that clock – I found it here:
http://www.amazon.com/Roman-Numeral-Design-Wall-Clock/dp/B000NE85U0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1325896039&sr=8-4
Hey Kirsten 🙂 Did you use Schumacher's Hot House fabric for the curtains and the two throw pillows. I am seriously OBSESSING over it right now but I would love to find a look alike that's a bit cheaper. I'm planning on using it in my bedroom!
What fabric did you use on the chairs by the fireplace (and on the back of the throw pillows on those chairs)? Wonderful room!
I love this! But my question is do you find that you had trouble making the rugs lay well on carpet? I see they are the flimsy (not exactly the word I am looking for) cotton one similar to those West Elm carries. Do they stay put? Or do they develop wrinkles and bumps?
Can you tell me where the geometric table in between the ikat chairs if from?
Thanks,
Megan
has anyone found out what the paint color is?
