I’m honored to be here today! I’m Jamie and I blog at So Much Better With Age.
I
love, love, love French, Vintage and Industrial decor. For the longest
time I thought to find my style, I could only pick just one. Then one
day I decided to just make up my own style and put it altogether.
Anyone can put together their style with items they truly love.

I’ve
always had a hard time accepting my kitchen and dining room. My dining
room was difficult to decorate for some reason. Not sure why because
it was just a plain square box of a room. My kitchen was an 80s
U-shaped kitchen with a bay window so the floor plan could not be
changed. I decided to work with both of the rooms’ angles and create
something I love where it looks like it was meant to be this way. It
took a lot of time though. I’ve lived in this house for nearly six
years.

I
love neutrals and white with touches of rustic and industrial and
French touches. All of my spaces reflect at least a bit of each
element. I believe if you are consistent in your style and put together
what you love even if it seems risky or unusual, it usually always
works. Own it and people will appreciate what you’ve accomplished.

Your kitchen and dining room are just stunning!! They exemplify what I attempted to create in my home. I have many of the same elements, all the result of renovations… white subway tile wall, stainless steel appliances, white cabinets, dark bamboo flooring, even the ticking stripes on kitchen stools. But, I went with a very common brownish granite for the countertops and wish I went with a solid. It is too busy and not as clean and light as your beautiful white countertops. I always include a few vintage, antique pieces in each room and happy to see you do, too. Next time, I am keeping in mind some of your finishes. I LOVE your style!!
I forgot to inquire where you located your beautiful wood butcher block island. It's the perfect size and finish for my home. xx
