It is so easy to get stuck in the mindset that a piece of art has to be framed. But art can be so much more than that!
We love when we can push outside the norm and use alternative pieces as art in a space. It brings in so much character and uniqueness! There are so many options out there; sometimes it might just take a little time to find them.
We have had the opportunity to use the unconventional pieces of art in some recent clients and they have quickly become some of our favorites!
1. Baskets
We love how this basket gallery wall turned out. It adds both texture and dimension to the space. This is a great alternative to a traditional gallery wall.

2. Banners
Banners are a fun way to add some personality to a space! We especially love them in a children’s space. They can be anything from a cute quote to looking more like a traditional framed art piece.
3. Unique Wall Hooks
These ceramic reptile figures not only add dimension but a functional place for bags or backpacks to land.
4. Marquis Letters
We love how marquis letters added personalization to this modern space.
Arrow Marquis, Hello Marquis, Ampersand Marquis – Similar
5. Real Animals
Antlers are all the rage now so why not use them as art on your wall?! Our client for this space loves hunting and hanging one tastefully not only showcases their interests, but adds a conversation piece with some dimension.
6. Canvas Posters
These bug canvas posters really brought this loft area to life and fits so perfectly with the pitched roofline.
7. Gallery of Clocks
Arranging Clocks in a grouping gives a unique alternative to a traditional gallery wall.
We rounded up our favorite art alternatives on the web.
