Midway New Build Basement

To continue our tour of the Midway new build we move down to the basement. The staircase itself is beautiful with lots of natural light so we left it simple. Thin pencil moldings and classic black sconces line the stairway. Coming down into the basement the walls transform into shiplap which covers the entire main living space. Our clients wanted the basement to feel a bit more casual than the upstairs. The shiplap walls and concrete floor make this basement give the basement a lighter feel.

At the base of the stairs is a small nook. We created a little reading/conversation area that offers up an additional seating option. The real star of the basement is the custom made sectional. It has plenty of comfy seating and lounging for this big family. The recreational area of the basement has a custom made ping pong table as well as a larger-than-life scrabble board.

The basement kitchenette needed to be fully functional as the family will be using it a lot. We added long open shelving with candy, bowls and cups at an easy reach. We custom designed a curved island to allow for as much seating as possible.

In the two basement bathrooms we stuck with a neutral design. The kids bathroom has a fun checkered floor and a large basin sink so multiple kids could use the space at the same time. In the guest bath we did a custom vanity made with concrete.
