Kirsten, I've been following you for over a year now. One of the reasons I came to your blog was because it was chock full of design inspiration and beautiful before and afters for me to swoon (and learn) over. I've noticed recently that there is less and less of a design blog going on. With Monday and Friday being mostly link posts, that doesn't leave much "meat" for the rest of the weak. Especially when you include ATLY classes like this one (which I have no interest in, or benefit from).
I love your blog and wanted to offer you some constructive criticism– please bring back more meat and potatoes that are really the core of 6th street design. I would love to see more posts on furniture choices, actual design work and rooms that have been made over; big and small.
Thanks so much for the input 🙂 I totally get where you are coming from! Running a design business and trying to keep up with a blog seems nearly impossible most of the time. I knew when I committed to House of Jade I would be sacrificing time for great blog content. I feel like I'm doing the very best I can but I do still wish I could do more 😉 I understand if my blog can't be a daily read for you anymore but please still check in from time to time!
I have been trying to view the class and it won't seem to load. I have contacted Alty, but they have not responded. Do you know if anyone else has had any trouble? Thanks!
I'm so sorry! Please email me [email protected] and we'll get it worked out!
Kirsten: I have been waiting for this class and I'm so excited to learn from it. Your blog is amazing and fresh, and I've truly enjoyed following you. Not only do you offer endless design inspiration, but you are extremely open, honest, and down to earth, and you generously share your knowledge and experience with all your readers. I also really LOVE the posts with links as they introduce me to new products and sources for design. Please don't change a thing! The variety of posts you share from links, to amazing products (decor and furniture) from your current projects, to your before and afters are why I keep coming back every day. Thank you! The Atly classes have been worth every penny for me, and have helped me to feel extremely excited about the prospect of entering the world of design.
Thanks Natlalie!! How sweet. I have spent so much time on these classes and I'm glad you find them valuable!!
Kristen: I am super happy you have come out with this class; and just had a few quick questions. I have been trying to get into the Interior design industry for the past few years since graduating from college and have had no luck. Do you have any tips? I am currently living in a small town in Cali and have been thinking of doing E-Design to get in. Do you think E-Design would help?
Yea! I think so. It just opens up the potential to work with so many more clients! Email me if you'd like to chat further 🙂
We are currently creating a place for stylists and designers who want to focus on e-design to show off their work — we're at http://www.stylevise.com if you are interested!
