The next stop on our tour of the Traverse Mountain Modern is the basement. We wanted this space to have a really edgy and cool vibe for our clients to entertain in. We added drama with black paint on the walls and ceilings. In the rec room we flanked two leather sofas in a soft caramel brown. They are deep enough to allow for lounging. We also added two swivel chairs so guest can watch t.v. or turn and interact with people playing ping pong or other guests who are in the kitchen.
The basement kitchen keeps the drama going with an incredible marble like quartz that goes to the ceiling. The kitchen is fully stocked with snacks, drinks and everything else you need for entertaining.
Off of the kitchen is a powder bath. We wanted to do something dramatic in here but also wanted to stay within budget so we used black paint that we took halfway up the walls. This creates the illusion of expensive trim work without having to spend as much money.
The theater is bold on it’s own with this stunning black wallpaper and the graphic movie posters.

I’m dying over this basement, every element is just perfection. I’d be so grateful to know the source or name of the quartz up the wall in the kitchen. It is a showstopper!! Thank you!
