Our recent remodel project has a very special place in our hearts. The clients love their neighborhood and house but they always knew a big remodel was necessary to make it their dream home. We felt so honored that they chose House of Jade Interiors to bring their dream to life!
As you come into the home you are greeted by this beautiful gallery wall. Large walls can be intimidating to fill. Our design team did a fabulous job of problem solving the wall by adding trim-work on the bottom half. We also added in wall sconces to add height to the room and take up visual space up top. The gallery wall is filled with images the clients love and that feel meaningful to them. Included in the gallery wall are some of our favorite prints like our dog sketch, olive tree, vivid blooms, wildflowers, desert at dusk, rocky shoreline & the serene abstract.
In the living room we wanted to create a space that felt welcoming. Our clients love color and do not shy away from pattern play. The marrakesh rug, window treatments and fireplace veining work together to create a dance of pattern that keep the space feeling very interesting.
In any home the kitchen is the heartbeat. Everything happens in this space and this kitchen is no different. We spent a great deal of time designing a kitchen that felt historically accurate to the home’s architecture but still felt in sync with the joyful nature of the rest of the home.
There is a lot of variety in the finishes but they all play very well together. The perimeter countertop is Blue Tahoe Quartzite from Arizona Tile and the island is Lavezzi Quartzite also from Arizona Tile. The design team picked two different stains for the perimeter cabinetry and island color. The island is a much darker stain. We love how it really grounds the room.
We brought in a lot of really beautiful kitchen accessories from House of Jade Home including the marble french rolling pin, baroque watercolor, vivian cheeseboard, white tea hand soap and lotion, and lagos runner.
In the adjacent dining nook we hugged the bay window with a custom dining bench and then added in a few Agnes chairs for extra seating. Our hobnail pot adds a perfect touch of texture as a centerpiece. The carved dark wood bowl is a perfect way to store produce or can work beautifully on it’s own.
As you enter the pantry the first thing you see is this wall of shelving. We wanted it to be filled with functional every-day kitchen items but we needed them to be pretty to look at. We started with the X – cutting board to bring in a slightly graphic element. We layered in beautiful storage pieces like our alia glass jars. We love fresh herbs in the kitchen or pantry. These herbs are made extra special with our wooden herb plant stakes.
The pantry has Taj Mahal quartzite from Arizona tile paired with a combo of Benjamin Moore Dried Basil and Benjamin Moore Spanish Olive on the cabinetry.
Downstairs in the basement we have the arthur dining table as a fun game table for the family. The clean lines make it easy to design around. We added in a custom velvet banquet and wallpaper to add some personality to the small nook.
The downstairs bathroom was such a fun one to design! We wanted to add wallpaper but to make sure it stayed protected for water we opted to do tile 3/4 up the wall. The pomona fruit free wallpaper is so fun and cheery. In the bathroom we added our favorite white tea hand soap and lotion as well as the Woodsen Pot.
We are so grateful for our amazing clients who trust us with their homes. This was such a fun project to work on! We hope you all enjoyed getting a peek into this wonderful home.
