If you follow me on instagram (@kirstenkrason) you may have noticed that I took a little trip out to New York last week for a workshop with Better Homes and Garden. I have always loved reading BHG so when I was invited out to attend their workshop I knew I couldn’t miss it.
It wasn’t easy for me to leave my kiddos for three days and fly (all alone) to New York and room with three bloggers who I had never met before. In fact I had a little anxiety about it for a few weeks leading up to the event. In the end it was totally amazing and I’m so glad I went. I got to hear from all the editors at the magazine, witness Eddie Ross do a tabletop styling demo ( I am mildly obsessed with him) and enjoy a few of the sites in New York. However, my very favorite part was just getting to catch up with old blogging friends and make some new ones!
Better Homes and Garden had a really fun after party at the Humphrey. My roomies and I totally color coordinated with our jewel toned dresses. I promise we did not plan that! I had a little panic attack when they told us we’d be attending a cocktail party. I don’t drink cocktails so my experience with these type of events is limited. But it was fun to have an excuse to get dolled up and put on a pretty dress.
My roomies were amazing. I shared a room with Sarah from Sarah Hearts, PJ from Bunny & Dolly and Jeran from Oleander and Palm. We also lucked out in having Joy from Frock Files as an honorary roommate. We had a blast together.
I also got to meet some blogging friends that I had previously only known via the internet.
We also had the opportunity to hear from four amazing designers, bloggers and stylists. Maxwell Ryan from Apartment Therapy, fashion designer Kayce Hughes, Eddie Ross and entertaining expert Annette Joseph.
