Last week Chris,The Taskmaster, spent a few days putting up all our molding and trim from Metrie. It was so fun to see the progress each day.
I can’t tell you how much it adds to the space. After it was all up I had it painted in Farrow and Ball’s All White.
I have to admit I was a little nervous to do such a bright white but I really love how it turned out. We also laid out our newBirmingham Black Indoor/Outdoor Rug from Dash & Albert.
They are also the perfect dimensions for the dining table. I love when an armchair can still slide easily under and out of the dining table.
Another key part of this space is a shelf to put along the back wall. The shelves are going to act as a dish cabinet for my extra serving pieces but also need to store all the art supplies for the “craft room” portion of this space. I wanted to bring in some wood shelves to add some warmth to the space because the white walls can com off cold. These are the options I considered.

I have that same rug and love it! Wish I had the time to figure out some pretty wall trim with Metrie……yours looks great!
It looks beautiful! What color are your walls in this room? They look light gray I the photos.
The walls are Farrow & Ball All White
Those chairs! I’ve been thinking about two for the end of my dining table. Do you think one could DIY the slip cover? hmm? In any case, I’m loving your plans. Can’t wait to see the end result : )
Looks so crisp and beautiful!
It’s all looking so beautiful! Love the moulding and the chairs! And yes – those are the perfect fighting sticks as we all so discovered (jedis here)!
Beautiful! I loved all of this and those chairs are perfect. I wonder how they will hold up with the Ninjas?
I love that rug. Plain and simple. And since I have a yellow lab AND a black lab, I shall never own that rug hahaha.
We’ve been doing free and cheap upgrades wherever we can – like hiding our window A/C units.
